San Pedro Friendship Bell
August 27 I went to meet our doula for an interview. It was close to the beach and we were there extremely early so we just kept driving towards the beach and following the road upwards. Without meaning to we came upon the San Pedro Friendship Bell! Our adventure begins with a full bag of animal crackers. Watch them disappear.
First Poop on the Potty!
Elijah finished his breakfast and was in his booster seat making grunting noises so I casually asked him over chicken soup, “Elijah do you want to go poo poo on the potty?” And he stretched out his arms to be carried so I carried him over and set up the toilet seat insert. He willingly got ready and sat down and within 5 minutes of playing with some toilet paper and pushing, I heard the *leak leak, plunk*
HOORAY ELIJAH! You did your first poo poo on the potty at 20 months old. I’m going to ask him every morning from now on!
Feeling the Rain
A few weeks ago when it was raining pretty hard on and off Elijah and I took a visit in the stroller to his friend’s home about a mile away. I took a towel in case it rained and just as I guessed, on the way back it started POURING. So I threw the towel over the stroller and started running. He kept trying to move the towel out of the way to see so I made a little opening on each side to peer out.
Well when I got home I was opening the garage and I noticed just Elijah’s little hand, peeking out of the side, palm up, feeling the raindrops. It was the most precious sight and a moment I will never forget.
New STuff
We were all at Fry’s tonight for Shin and I was holding Elijah and there was another big dad down the row who had another similar age boy on his shoulder. Elijah got all excited and started talking to him and the boy looked back at Elijah and smiled and waved! Then Elijah waved back. That socializing was totally initiated by him! I’m convinced I need to be more intentional about directing his social life.
We came home and noticed that while Shin and I were talking Elijah was walking and spinning himself around in circles! That’s a new balancing act for him. Then I stood up on a chair to bring down the meds in the highest cabinet and he crawled right up the same chair behind me and was standing up inches from the edge. Omg. That was new and dangerous.

SOME ADDITIONAL PHOTOS FROM OUR SCAVENGER HUNTING
Elijah’s First Steps
Elijah took his first 2 steps at his Great Grandmother’s house (Shin’s maternal grandmother) on New Years Day when we went to “Juhl” or bow to the grandparents. Actually Elijahs great grandmother had two porcelain bells and she gave him one and rang the other over his head. He reached for it and took his first steps. It was amazing.
Christmas Gift
Elijah got a red wagon for Christmas! Thank you Aunties and Uncles!
